Products
PA, polyamide (Nylon)
Polyamides have a good balance of price, processability, machinability and material properties; high stiffness at elevated temperatures, high impact strength at low temperatures, good wear characteristics and low friction. They withstand many common aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, lubricants and oils. Some acids, phenols and halogenated hydrocarbons, and strong bases and oxidants such as peroxides attack the materials. They are sensitive to hydrolysis and thermo-oxidative degradation. They are also strongly hygroscopic, which negatively affects dimensional stability.
