About standards
Materials are defined by their mechanical, thermal, electrical etc properties. A number of standards are in use. In our data sheets we give typical values for tests performed according to different standards and test environments. It should be observed that a certain property obtained through one test standard may not always be fully comparable to that of an other. We reproduce all material information in good faith, as taken from our suppliers or from the manufacturer of the raw material; it represents our best knowledge. We do not accept responsibility for the use of the data, as the materials can be affected differently at different use and machining. The data presented should also not be the sole source for construction or dimensioning, and do not free the user from making own tests and verifications. For comparisons between different standards, as well as for full descriptions of the standards, it is up to the end user to ascertain the validity. For this purpose, some links to the major standardisation organisations are provided.
